Carpinteria California Mudslides Disaster
Immediately upon entering Carpinteria I observed an orange excavator with a large pile of mud and debris beside it. I decided to pullover and I snapped the following photograph.
The severity of the mudslides in Carpinteria became more apparent when I arrived at Carpinteria State Beach. I traversed the obstacle laden beach, where I spied a river covered in mud, and tree logs. Now I could see the true devastation of the California Thomas Fire.
To the right of the mud covered Carpinteria creek I saw a large pile of tree logs that appeared to go on along the beach for at least a mile.

Luckily no homes were destroyed.
